Together with the underground map don’ forget to carry with you a bus map, to have at handy all the information you need about stops and timetables, especially if you mean to get around at night.

Buses in the city operate Mon-Sat and partly on Sun, from 5.30 am to 8.30 pm. At night there’s the Noctilien service, with as many as 42 lines (identified by the N) which do not serve the whole city, though.

Buses whose number has two digits operate in the centre, whereas those with three digits serve the suburbs. Screens at bus shelters indicate buses arriving and the time you have to wait. Please note that for the bus to stop you need to make a sign to the driver.

Instead of a bus you can take a tram, even though there are just 4 lines that operate just until 11.40 pm.
