Undisputed symbol of Paris and of France and unmistakable icon, the Tour Eiffel was designed by Gustave Eiffel and inaugurated in 1889 for the Universal Exposition, after two years of non-stop works.

With its 325 meters of height, its 1665 steps to reach the top and its massive shape with 18.038 metallic pieces, the tower is currently one of the most popular tourist attractions of the world, due to its breathtaking view over Paris and the magic that surrounds it in the collective imagination.

You can get to its three floors via a lift whose capacity is of more than 100 people. The bravest ones, instead, can also decide to walk up to the top via the stairs that begin in the east side of the tower.

On the first floor, the vastest one, there’s the Ferrié pavilion with a cinema, shops and restaurants and the old hydraulic pump that used to push the lifts up to the top.

In the southern foot of the tower there’s the famous Jules Verne restaurant.
